    OSMOND REUNION 2000

Dateline September 16th, 2000, Glenside, Pa...... Pat Roach began his day traveling around nailing up signs on telephone poles pointing to where the Reunion was being held. He accidentally gave directions pointing away from the Post when within 3 blocks of the site. Fortunately, a number of people saw the signs and ended up at the correct location.

When Pat arrived there was consternation abounding. A wedding on the 1st floor and a sign saying the Teefy Graduation upstairs. Upon contacting the Manager he was advised everything was okay and Osmond would indeed be on the 2nd floor. Whew! It seems BettyAnn (Gindhart) Cleighton had only 42 people signed up by the time the reservations were due, so she opted for the smaller room upstairs. As it turned out, we ended up with about 80 people.

Stephanie (Smith) Southrey was upset because they did not have the tables and chairs in place. Joe Roach, Bob Adair, Jane McGinnis, Steph and BettyAnn had to pitch in to set them up properly. Meantime, Pat Roach went back outside and stood at the top of the entrance to the Post so people coming in could see someone from Osmond was there and to not get confused with the Wedding group. Good thing he did, because a number of Osmond people were sitting in their cars not recognizing anyone until they saw Pat.

Everyone had a great time chatting with each other and greeting old friends. Many of the atendees were here for the 50th Anniversary Reunion, but a number of people who did not make it to the last reunion made it this time - notably, Ed and Elaine Holmes, Chic Cassidy, Jim Fenerty, Sam Kaufman, Jack and Elsie Hackett, Ed Hackett and John Weckerly (one of the Osmond Cadet Founding Fathers back in the early 30’s).

John and Patti Danks came down from their new home in Belleville, Michigan and ditto Ted and Theresa Locker from there new home in Littleton, North Carolina. George and Dolores McCracken made it again from Vermont while George Mohelski made it up from Virginia Beach. Roseanne Haley arrived from Woodbridge, Va and Pat Gohl from Chambersburg, Pa. Barbara Roach and George Woods came in from Boiling Springs, Pa (near Carlisle) and Ken Hayes and Arlene Schilling made it all the way from their home 3 blocks from the Post.

Everyone had a blast and we are all eagerly looking forward to our Reunion in 2002. Please stay in touch through our web site for late announcements.
