OSMOND POST CADETS  Drum & Bugle Corps

VFW Post #1692, Philadelphia, PA

    Our Friends, The Senior Corps

The late Frank McCormick (left) and John Dowlan discuss Frank's proposal to establish a new judges association. John, reporting for the Bugle and Drum Corps Times in 1948, wrote a feature story in a subsequent issue entitled, "Eastern States Judges Now Forming".

Frank was very popular in drum corps circles since the 1930's as instructor, arranger, judge and performer. He will always be remembered for his melodic baritone solos played with the Reilly Raiders and became
the National VFW Individual Champion. Frank was also the Drum Major of the Imhoff  "Thunderbirds" Sr Corps, for whom he also arranged music and instructed the horn line. He was instructor and arranger for the Soby Post Cadets and the Temple Cadets.

In addition, he also started the Levittown Lovers Sr. Corps and was involved with the Earls of Bucks. He also instructed and arranged horns for the then up and coming Yankee Rebels in the fifties.
