Reunion 2002 Report  (Written by Patrick Roach)

Approximately 80 people from 11 States attended the Osmond 2002 Reunion, including: Willie Curlott from New Mexico, John and Dolores (King) Dowlan from Florida, Bill Beckmann from Arizona, George and Dolores (Eisenach) McCracken from Vermont, George and Rich Mohelski from Virginia, Roseanne Haley from Virginia, Jim Meehan from California, John Danks from Michigan, Herb and Jane Morton from Florida, Ted Locker from No. Carolina and George  Hildebrand from Maryland. From New Jersey, we had Bob and Ruth (Friel) Dunn, Bob Adair, Jane McGinnis, Ed Klein, and Nancy Keenan. From Central Pa. We had Pat Gohl and George and Barbara (Roach) Woods.

Philadelphia Area people included Dick McDonald, Stephanie(Smith) Southrey, Ernie Donnelley, Ed and Elaine Holmes, Don and Phylis Rogerson, Charlie Hackett, Bettyann (Gindhart) Cleighton, Joe and Rita Roach, Pat Roach, Kitty and Bob Cwalino, Jim Gallagher, Dolores and Joe Siro, Jay Brown, Larry and Ruth Scott, Tom Danks, Liz Delaney, Vivian Bischoff and Govvy, John Moutain, Joe Mountain, Ray Mountain, Joe Mountain, Lee Wolf, Bill Mitten, Charlie Cornelius, Joe Sneidinger, Rich and Peggy McGinnis, Ken and Arlene Hayes, Lois (Schilling) Rutherford, Dick Penrod, Chic Carr, and Bill Keim.

The McCrackens arrived a week early for the reunion due to a screw-up in the invitation, but were able to stay an extra day on their vacation, so they were still able to make it (whew!). Ray Mountain was able to make it desite a long and complicated illness which he is now recovering. Joe and Helen Mountain got lst and missed dinner, but still arrived to join the festivities. Joe Siro was able to make it for the first time. Welcome, Joe. Jim Bowser from Reilly and Ken Newman were also there.

Bill Beckmann brought his Laptop and CD’s of a number of Corps from the late 40’s and early 50’s. He showed everyone the Osmond Website which now has over 800 pictures and many recordings of Osmond and other Corps music from that period. At the Reunion, it was announced that Kitty and Bob Cwalino would be inducted into the Hall of Fame under a new category known as Hall of Fame Associates. It is believed that Hiram Walker may be inducted in the near future. All Osmond people who are living and already in the Hall Of Fame were at the reunion attended with the exception of Don Adair who is currently recuperating from a stroke. Best wishes Don for a speedy recovery. We miss you.

In closing, it was the best place we have had in our many reunions and the food was great. (The beer was great, too, as to I especially can attest). We also loved the ‘Osmond Forever’ cake that BettyAnn brought.
